My Pet crashes at startup

The main reason for My Pet crash at start-up is that the application database might be corrupted. This usually happens after upgrading to the latest version and if the already installed application is at least 2 versions back.


Solution

Start My Pet into Fail-safe mode and send the corrupted database using e-mail to My Pet support team. The support team will fix the corruption and send you an e-mail with a code. Start again My Pet into Fail-safe mode insert the code and download the operational database. After download and restoration completion, disable fail-safe mode and start My Pet again.

There will be no data loss during this process

Fail-safe mode is available in version 1.8 and later

Start My Pet in Failsafe mode

When use Fail-safe mode
Use Fail-safe mode only when application crashes during start up.


Enable/Disable Fail-safe mode
Go to device Settings and scroll down the list, find My Pet option and select it. Enable (switch on) Failsafe Mode option. Start My Pet application.
When My Pet starts in fail-safe mode, you have 2 options:

    - Send Database to My Pet
    - Get Database from My Pet


Send Database to MyPet
By selecting this option, you can send the corrupted database to My Pet support team for fix. Tap in Send Database button write a short description of problem, including your device iOS version and send the e-mail. We fix your  database and will contact with you as soon as possible.


Get Database from MyPet
When fix of your database completes we will send you a code. Select this option, insert the mailed code and tap in Download and Restore Database button to download and restore the fixed database from web. When restoration completesstop My Pet application, disable the Fail-safe mode (from device settings) and start My Pet application.

Synchronization between devices

Synchronization between devices



The sender device selects and uploads data to myPet cloud. The receiver device uses the sender's credentials (username and password) to download and store localy the uploaded data from myPet cloud.


Sender device (upload data to cloud)

To upload data to cloud for synchronization complete the following steps.

1. Enable Internet and go to Synchronization option and select: Other Device (using Cloud)
2. Check that Send Update tab is selected and tap in Upload Data to Cloud (Note! Internet connection is required)





3. Select the pet (or pets) and what kind of data to upload and tap the Upload Data on Cloud button.



Receiver device (synchronize from cloud)

To download and synchronize complete the following steps.

1. Enable Internet and go to Synchronization option and select: Other Device (using Cloud)
2. Select Receive Update tab.

Insert the sender device credentials.



In the receiver device the user must insert the username and password of the sender device

3. Tap the Get Data and Synchronize button. If the credentials are correct the data will be downloaded and restored in the receiver device.

Tips


* You can use the synchronization in order to keep a backup of your data on the cloud.
* No media such as photos or videos are transfered during synchronization.
* If you are veterinarian you can use the synchronization to insert in your device the pet records of your customers.
Important : Before get synchronized your device, take a local back up of the database (Admin -> Backup)

About Web Access Portal

Web Access is a portal, which enables you to upload your pet records (which located in your device) into the Cloud. Once the records uploaded into My Pet cloud, you can login in Web Access portal (using a web browser) and access your records anytime from anywhere.

Web Access is very useful in cases that you are in the veterinary office or in a clinic and the veterinarian must have access to your pet's medical records.

Note: If you are veterinarian, Web Access may be used as an application that can be used to have access to your "customers" medical records.

Web Access - how it works

Web Access is a portal which we created, in order to allow our users to upload the records of their pets on the web and access them from anywhere, anytime using a web browser.

Web Access is very useful in cases where a veterinarian needs access to a pet's medical record. The owner must upload the desired records in Web Access and give the veterinarian the permissions to access the data. Web Access also provides an alternative layout to view your pet's data.


Who can use Web Access?

- The pet owner can use Web Access to access the uploaded data using a web browser anytime from anywhere.
- The registered veterinarian may use Web Access to view his/her “customer’s“ uploaded data.

Important! The veterinarian must be authorized by pet owner in order access and view the uploaded content.


Upload data in Web Access (using a My Pet App)

Go to Synchronization option and select Upload on Web (Web Access). The Web Access screen is divided in two (2) parts, the information section and the actions section.

In the information section you can see the following information:
- Last upload date.
- The unique username (owner id) which will be used for login in Web Access page.
- The password (4 digits) which will be used for login in Web Access page.
- The Web Access url (the url which be used for access.

 

To upload data for Web Access tap in Upload Data to Cloud in Actions section. (Note! Internet connection is required).

 

On the next screen select the pets and theirs data for upload and tap the Upload Data on Cloud.



Browse pet records (using a web browser)

Open a web browser and go in My Pet website (https://mypet.com.gr). Click on the button: Login Web Access.

 

On Web Access web page using the username and password supplied by My Pet application.



The username and password for Web Access log in are unique and supplied by My Pet application.

Note! Username is case sensitive!

After successful log in, select the desired pet from the list (at left of the page) and browse its records. The latest version of Web Access enables the user to print the records.

 

Tip: You can send your credentials (username and password) to your veterinarian in order to have access to your pets records.

Database backup in device (local backup)

To back up My Pet database in your device local filesystem complete the following procedure.

1. Go to Admin (More -> Admin)
2. Tap in: Database Backup (in this device)

The database will be backed up in your device local filesystem.

Note! Photo/Video galleries and Document Library will be not backed up using this option. 

Database backup in My Pet cloud (web backup)

To back up My Pet database in My Pet cloud complete the following procedure.

1. Enable Internet connection in your device
2. Go to Admin (More -> Admin)
3. Tap in: Database Backup (in cloud)

The database will be backed up in My Pet cloud.

Important! The procedure may take some minutes to complete (depending of the network speed). Wait until the upload complete.

Note! Photo/Video galleries and Document Library will be not backed up using this option.  

Database backup/restore using iCloud Drive

My Pet supports iCloud back up and restore.


Preparation for iCloud Back Up

Use this option just before start a back up of your device in iCloud. This option will prepare all My Pet data (database, photos, videos and documents) be backed up in iCloud.

1. Go to Admin (More -> Admin)
2. Tap in: iCloud Backup/Restore option
3. Select iCloud Backup prepare and tap in Prepare Data

This will prepare My Pet application to be backed up in iCloud. Now you are ready to back up your device in iCloud.

Note! Remove Data button, reverts the prepare procedure.


 iCloud Restore


Use this option just after your device restoration from an iCloud backup. This option will restore the local database and your pet's media folder (photos, videos and documents) from the data downloaded from iCloud.

Attention! This procedure will replace all data and is not reversible!

 

Add multiple pets

My Pet supports multiple pet track and administration. To add a pet: Select "My Pets" tab. In pets main screen, tap in add button "+" upper right to add a new pet.

Change home screen background image

Since version 2.2; My Pet enables the user to set his favorite pet photo as home screen background. 

Set background
Select Admin tab, scroll down and tap on "Home Screen Background" option. Select a photo from device or My Pet  photo gallery.

Unset background
Select Admin tab, scroll down and tap on "Home Screen Background" option. Select "No Photo" option.
